This Reuters video shows the German polar bear cub named Flocke at ten weeks old. She is more mobile now but still obviously uncoordinated. At five weeks Flocke was just starting to open her eyes. Now at ten weeks and 16-pounds Reuters reports that zoo keepers say Flocke is trying to shred everything she can reach with her teeth and claws.
Some articles are referring to Flocke as the new Knut. Flocke is at the Nuremberg Zoo in Germany. The name "Flocke" means snowflake. The Zoo received over 500,000 emails when the asked for helping naming the polar bear cub. Here's the video.
Martha Stewart Talks Dog Grooming and Making Yarn From Dog Fur
Martha Stewart takes her beautiful chow Paw Paw gets groomed at a Manhattan dog spa and dog apparel retailer called Parierro. Chow Chow gets dematted and gets his nails clipped. Paw Paw also gets washed and has hit teeth brushed. In a blog post Martha Stewart shows how a company named VIP Fibers to spin yarn collected from the fur of your beloved pet. They made some yarn from Paw Paw's fur.
Uno the Beagle a.k.a. "Ch K-Run's Park Me In First" won Best in Show at the 132nd annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He was the first beagle to ever win. Way to go Uno! Happy Uno couldn't stop barking. The video below tells the story of Uno's inspiring win.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is in just a few days. This video shows pageant-hungry pups prepping for their close up. Bonny Ghosh from the Associated Press investigates the competition to see how the dog's prepare. "The pressure is on" says Ghosh. There are doggie treadmills and even doggie psychics available to help the some 2,500 dogs attending the Show relax.
Pets Blessed in Mexico on Saint Anthony the Abbott's Feast Day
This is an amazing occurence. On Saint Anthony the Abbott's feast day Mexicans take their pets to Catholic Churches where a priest reads a special animal prayer. Turtles, dogs, parrots and many other types of pets come with their owners to receive the blessing. Reuters says pets are often dressed in vibrant frocks and ribbons are placed on their ears so they can be sprinkled with holy water by the priest reading the prayer. This video from Reuters shows some pets going to church to receive the annual pet blessing.
